What is the “AI for Empowering Learning and Teaching” Funding Programme?
To promote digital education in Hong Kong primary and secondary schools, the Education Bureau has earmarked HK$2 billion from the Quality Education Fund to support publicly-funded schools in leveraging AI to enhance learning and teaching effectiveness.
Funding Requirements
Participating schools must complete the following during the programme period:

School Development Plan: Incorporate “Developing AI-empowered Education” into the school development and/or annual plans.

3+ Subjects with AI: Implement AI-assisted teaching in at least 3 subjects (each covering 2+ levels) and develop 6+ AI teaching examples.

3+ Open/Demo Lessons: Conduct at least 3 open or demonstration lessons using AI across 3+ subjects.

3+ Sharing Sessions: Organize at least 3 AI teaching experience sharing sessions (internal or external).

2+ Student Activities: Organize or arrange at least 2 activities aimed at enhancing students’ AI literacy and skills.
